Policies, Terms, Conditions, and Q&A: 

Booking and Scheduling:

  • Advance Booking: Secure your lesson spot by scheduling at least 24 hours before the intended lesson date and time. 

  • Swim lessons/classes are WEEKLY, with 4-5 lessons per session depending on the number of weeks in the month. Package prices are adjusted monthly depending on the number of lessons in the package. 

    • Session 1 : Tuesday April 2nd 2024 - Sunday May 5th 2024 

    • Session 2 : Tuesday May 7th 2024 - Sunday June 2nd 2024 (4 weeks)

    • Session 3 : Tuesday June 4th 2024 - Sunday June 30th 2024 (4 weeks) 

    • Session 4 : Tuesday July 2nd 2024 - Sunday August 4th 2024 (5 weeks)

    • Session 5 : Tuesday August 6th 2024 - Sunday September 1st 2024 (4 weeks)

New Pool Entry and Exit Schedule:

  • Arrival: Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled lesson in your bathing suits, ready to swim. Remember to have a bathroom break beforehand!

  • During Lessons: Upon entering, please take a seat in any available space. Help your child get their goggles ready and wait for the instructor to call their name.

  • Lesson Transition: When the instructor calls your child, please either escort them to the lesson or allow them to meet their instructor independently.

  • Departure: After the lesson concludes, the instructor will signal for your child to exit the pool. Please assist them in drying off, packing up, and heading back to the car efficiently.

 

What to Bring: 

  • Water bottle, goggles, swim cap or hair tie (long hair), bathing suit 

  • Winter: Wetsuits are sometimes helpful in keeping the little ones warmer! 

  • *Feel free to reach out for recommendations on goggles, suits, caps, etc. 

  • We have goggles for sale at the pool for $10 & Amazon recommendations                                                         are included below:

Cancellations and Makeups:

  • Cancellation Policy: Life happens! Should you need to cancel, kindly do so 24 hours in advance in order to receive a class-reschedule voucher. For last-minute cancellations due to emergencies, please contact us directly at (774) 994-0592 or capecodnico@gmail.com.

  • For Private Lessons: We offer 1 make-up class per session with 24-hour notice. If you are consistently missing more than one class per month, please let us help you in finding a time that better suits your schedule.  

  • For Group Lessons: We do not offer make-up classes for missed sessions. This policy ensures that our group classes can run smoothly and maintain a cohesive learning environment for all participants. Group lessons are scheduled and structured to progress collectively, and accommodating individual make-up classes could disrupt the flow and progression of the entire group. If you find that you are frequently unable to attend, please contact us so we can explore alternative scheduling options that might better accommodate your needs.

  • Request a Makeup Lesson: In order to receive your makeup lesson, you must let us know about your planned absence 48 hours in advance through filling out this form. After filling out the form, one of us will reach out to you with a code that you can use to book a “One Time Make Up Lesson” on a date and time that is convenient for you throughout the session.

 

Departure After Lessons: To manage the overcrowding, please limit your time in the pool area to 5 minutes after your child’s lesson ends. Promptly escort them to change in designated areas such as the bathroom, garage, or even in your car.

 

Hot Tub Usage: The hot tub should only be used under direct parental supervision. Due to the new schedule and classes now being held in the hot tub, availability will be limited. 

 

Seating During Lessons: To reduce crowding, we ask that all parents remain seated during lessons. Chairs will be arranged closer to the pool for better visibility and convenience.

 

Arrival: Arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled time and wait for the instructor to invite your child into the pool.

 

Departure: Quickly meet your child at the pool's exit, dry off, change, and collect any items before returning to your vehicle.

 

Guests at Lessons: To help manage space and ensure comfort, please limit spectators to a minimum per swimmer. This includes siblings and other family members.

 

Neighborhood Courtesy: We are part of a quiet residential area. Please help us maintain a peaceful environment by keeping voice levels low around the pool area.

 

Pool Rules for Parents: Parents are reminded not to enter the pool unless participating in a baby class. This policy is crucial for the safety and structure of our lessons.

 

Weather: 

  • Weather-Related Cancellations: Lessons may be canceled in the event of extreme weather. We prioritize safety and comfort. In such cases, we'll reach out with a cancellation notice. 

  • We conduct swim lessons in all kinds of weather - clouds, rain, etc. 

  • The only reason we would cancel the lesson is if there is thunder/lightning within 30 minutes before/during the lesson. 

  • If you would prefer to cancel your lesson due to weather conditions please contact us at least 24h in advance for our usual “make-up policies” to apply.

 

Temporary Instructor Policy: 

  • Sometimes our instructors are sick or can't make it into work, so to prevent an interruption in your lessons we will assign a temporary instructor (male or female) - this will not be permanent. You will be notified. 

 

Health Considerations: 

  • As per California Code 3121B.22: Persons having currently active diarrhea or who have had active diarrhea within the previous 14 days shall not be allowed to enter the pool water. 

  • Any children that are not properly potty trained or are under the age of 2.5 MUST wear a fitted swim diaper under their bathing suit.

Payment Options: 

  • Most types of payment methods are accepted through the website. If you have any issues feel free to reach out! 

  • We're here to support your swimming journey every splash of the way, if you have any trouble covering the costs of lessons please reach out for assistance (we are willing to work with you!). 

  • We pro-rate for registration made mid-month, so you can start lessons at any time

  • We do not pro-rate for sickness or missed classes​

Refund Policy

  • Refund Opportunities: If you are unsatisfied with your first lesson and wish to discontinue the session, we offer the option to switch instructors as a first step. Should this not meet your needs, refunds are then considered on a case-by-case basis. Please note, discontinuing a session may create scheduling gaps which are challenging to fill, affecting the feasibility of a refund.

Privacy Policy

  • Information Security: Your privacy is paramount to us. All personal information, including booking details, is securely stored and exclusively shared within the Surfs Up Swim Programs network, including instructors and administrative staff. Rest assured, your information is not shared with any external parties.

Health and Safety Measures

  • Certified and Prepared Instructors: Safety first—always. All our instructors are certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED operations, ensuring that every lesson is as safe as it is enjoyable. We also have qualified lifeguards on staff to enhance safety during all swimming sessions.

Communication Policies

  • Stay Informed: We believe in keeping you updated. Any changes to the schedule, pricing, or policies will be communicated to you via email. We recommend keeping an eye on your inbox to stay informed about any updates related to your swim lessons.
